Shroomkin
They stand just under four feet tall and carry the weight of the woods in their slow, steady movements. From an early age, they learn to listen to the faint whispers of spores drifting through the air and the subtle pulse of life beneath the soil. The Shroomkin tend to the hidden places of the forest, caring for the fungi and plants that hold the cycle of life and death together.
Their lives move at a patient pace, marked by quiet rituals and stories shared under the shelter of fallen logs or in moonlit clearings. Though they often keep to themselves, Shroomkin share a deep bond, connected by the web of roots and spores that spread unseen beneath the forest floor. They are healers and watchers, bringing growth where it is needed and gently guiding decay where life must end.
To outsiders, Shroomkin may seem slow or secretive, but those who take the time to know them find steady friends and fierce protectors of the wild places.
Spore Veil
You can release a cloud of spores as an action, creating lightly obscured terrain in a 10-foot radius centered on you. Creatures that start their turn in this cloud must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be poisoned until the start of their next turn. You can use this feature once per long rest.
Fungal Resilience
Your body resists poisons and toxins. You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance to poison damage.
Mycelial Connection
You can communicate simple emotions or images telepathically with any creature within 30 feet that shares your fungal heritage or is in contact with the same soil or fungal network. This communication doesn’t require language, and can only convey basic concepts.
Shade Dweller
Accustomed to damp, dark environments, you have darkvision up to 60 feet and advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in dim light or natural shadows.
