Grung are small amphibious humanoids whose vibrant, iridescent skin and toxic secretions mark them as both alluring and perilous.

Born from the murky, humid swamps and hidden wetlands of the Shattered Realms, grung have evolved in environments where water, shadow, and magic intermingle. Their smooth, glossy skin flashes in vivid hues—ranging from deep emerald to bright yellow or crimson—and large, reflective eyes help them navigate even the darkest marshes. While their diminutive stature may belie their strength, the potent toxins secreted through their skin make them formidable opponents and a constant reminder that beauty can be as dangerous as it is captivating.

In grung society, survival is a delicate dance of community and cunning. Their tribes are formed around secret springs and secluded pools, where ancient rituals and whispered codes govern daily life. Once vibrant with youthful creativity, grung have honed a unique blend of practicality and mischief, using their natural agility and poisonous defenses to ward off predators and rival clans alike. Despite their reputation for cruelty among outsiders, many grung remain fiercely loyal to those who earn their trust, weaving a culture that cherishes resourcefulness and the ephemeral beauty of their watery home.

Grung in the Shattered Realms embody nature’s paradox—a living fusion of dazzling colors, delicate beauty, and lethal resilience. Their enigmatic presence in the swamps and marshes invites intrepid explorers to rediscover the untamed magic hidden in the depths, reminding all that even the smallest creature can hold immense power.
